In a conversation with Bernice Bell, a greeter at Wal-Mart, she made a statement that life use to be simpler. She said that when she was young they went to a grocery store at Prairie City with a list and those at the store took the orders for groceries and went back and got them for the customer. City institutes new 'Adopt a Park' plan

The Nevada Parks Board is looking for some individuals, families or groups who appreciate the city parks and would like to "Adopt a Park" for a couple of years and help to improve the experience of visitors to that park. Robin McHugh, parks and recreation director, said that the parks department has already had several phone calls from people asking for applications and are hoping to generate interest in several more such applications in the future...

Deadline is Friday for purchasing dog licenses

The last day to purchase dog licenses in the city of Nevada without a penalty is Friday, Feb. 29. Beginning March 1, a 50-percent penalty will be added to the purchase prices. City ordinances require all dogs older than six months that are sheltered within the city limits to have current rabies vaccinations and dog tags. Dog owners may purchase tags for puppies with no penalty once the puppies reach six months of age...

Bronaugh boys falls despite big numbers by one player

Bronaugh Wildcats fell to 7-17 for the season after being defeated by Hume Friday night. The loss was not from lack of effort though with Bronaugh putting up 63 points in the game, 46 of which came from one player, Nick Judd.
