In August it will be 6 years since my physician told me that I am a diabetic. I have promised you that I will report to you from time to time on how I am doing with this disease. In many ways I have been doing well, which is a real blessing. Still it is a challenge to do even better. Recently, I had blood tests at the Veterans Administration Clinic. The advantage is, it is helpful in preventive care -- it's a good early indicator that something may be getting out of line...

Nevada has a new chief of police. When Christine Keim, who has 26 years experience in law enforcement, was sworn in as chief of police during Tuesday night's council meeting she became one of a very few women in the state to hold this position.
