Train collides with trailer on tracks

The driver of a tractor-trailer struck by a train as the trailer crossed the track at a crossing on Route DD, three miles north of Sheldon escaped injury in the incident. The Hume Hornets varsity baseball team earned two strong victories over the weekend to take the Hume Invitational tournament title, defeating NEVC 8-2 and Butler 4-3 on Saturday. Junior Zach Austin pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on one hit with five walks. I got to take my first trip to the newly renovated Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City to see to the Royals play this past weekend and it certainly made for quite the interesting trip.
