In his July 18 report to the Federal Election Commission in Washington, Akin said he had garnered $1,874,430 in contributions from individuals and $338,031 from political action committees to total $2,229,189...

For the seventh graders, things started off rough and didn't get much better throughout the night as Webb City swept both the A and B matches. High winds and heavy rains took out electricity for more than 5,000 customers -- mainly in Bourbon County, Kan., on Friday.
