Weber was drafted into the U.S. Army Ground Forces and reported to the draft board in Nevada at the Vernon County Courthouse. Loaded on a bus with other draftees, he got to the induction center at Jefferson Barracks at St. Louis about midnight where they unloaded and were assigned quarters...
