The 2021 Cottey College golf season is off to a record start. Though the Comets placed third out of four teams this past Monday and Tuesday at the season-opening Missouri Valley College Fall Invitational on the links of Indian Foothills in Marshall, their overall score of 705 (+129) set a new school record for lowest 36-hole event total. Cottey also earned the school’s record-best single-day 18-hole team total on Tuesday when the Comets shot a 342 (+54)...

Vickie Kay (Budd) Ringwood, 61, Butler, Mo., passed away peacefully after a long courageous fight with cancer on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021. Vickie was born Feb. 3, 1960, in Independence, Mo. Victor Keith Griffin, 61, beloved father, husband, son, and brother, passed away in Dayton, Ohio, on Sept. 21, 2021. He was born in Nevada, Mo., on Sept. 2, 1960.
