Laying wreaths for her husband and others who served (Local News ~ 12/11/23)
In December 2020, Dennis Willman, United States Army E-8 Senior Master Sergeant (ret.), passed away and was honored for his service with his interment at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott. Later that same autumn, his widow, Judi, was standing at his grave when one of the groundskeepers asked if he could be of service. In the ensuing conversation, Judi Willman was asked if she had heard about the organization which raises funds to purchase Christmas wreaths for the gravesites... -
Nevada knocks out Leavenworth in overtime for fifth place finish at Carthage Invitational (High School Sports ~ 12/11/23)
The Nevada Tigers returned to Carthage for the third day in a row to take on the Leavenworth Pioneers. Leavenworth would win the tip, however, Nevada would get the ball back on a Brice Budd steal but were unable to convert it to a basket and the Pioneers would strike first with a layup and would continue to go on a quick 6-0 run. This would get Coach Shaun Gray to call a quick time-out to rally his troops and the Tigers would come out of that time-out going on a run of their own...
