Cassidy Faith Owen, age 42, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away Sunday January 19, 2025, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. Cassidy was born February 6, 1982, in Nevada, MO to Ronald Lee and Karen Sue (Lofquest) Davis.  She graduated from Nevada High School in 2000 and went on to receive her degree from MSSU in Joplin, MO.  She was a Social Worker, working with children.  She was united in marriage on May 15, 2010, in Nevada, MO to Shawn Dustin Owen, and together they have one son.  She loved her cats and enjoyed watching crime shows.. ...

Opening Round vs Owensville-Thursday January 23 The Nevada Tigers opened play in the annual Frontenac Raider Classic on Thursday against the Owensville High School Dutchmen out of central Missouri. Nevada came into the contest at 9-3, averaging 51 points per game and giving up 44 ppg on defense.  Meanwhile, the Dutchmen were averaging 47 ppg on offense while allowing 49 ppg on defense.  The two teams have met the last three years in the Frontenac Tournament with Nevada being victorious in all the previous meetings. ...
