Conservation agent crashes in pursuit of spotlighter in county

On Friday, Nov. 16, while on patrol in the extreme southwest corner of Vernon County, Missouri Conservation agent Justin Fogle crashed a conservation truck while pursuing vehicle driven by someone who was illegally spotlighting. Woman's wrongful death suit ends in dismissal

More than four years after his death, the estate of Walter Jeremy Hayes' lawsuit for wrongful death has ended in a dismissal. On Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Nevada Courthouse, Swischer Law Firm, representing Sandra Hayes, named representative of Hayes' estate, fought to continue a lawsuit filed in February 2007. Power outage caused by grain elevator mishap

At approximately 11:45 Monday morning, a grain elevator struck a primary utility line in the parking lot of Producers Grain. The elevator was being moved by a front end loader, when it apparently came in contact with the 7,200 volt power line. The incident left about 1,000 customers without power for about an hour. According to Gary Ashby, Aquila's projects manager, there were several damaged fuses from the event which were fixed by around 12:45 p.m...
