Slates 'guilty' in connection with kidnapping caper, four await trial

A 56-year-old local man implicated in connection with a bizarre cross-country kidnapping plot last January pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge Thursday in New Jersey and will face up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced, but the New Jersey Herald of Newton reports that Slates could be sentenced to as little as five years if he cooperates in the prosecution of other suspects in the case...
