Betty Jean Austin, 75, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 15, 1939, on South Cedar Street, in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Guy Townley and Margaret Baldwin Townley. She married Jimmy (Dale) Austin on Aug. 2, 1959, in Fort Scott; they had two daughters. Betty worked for 26 years as a CNA at Fort Scott Mercy Hospital...
