100 Years Ago -- January 27, 1904 METZ -- The residence of Wm. H. Yeates, an old resident of Metz Township was burned to the ground yesterday morning. Mr. Yeates had been living in the house alone for some time, but was visiting at his daughter's, Mrs. Emma Falor, who lives several miles away. The origin of the fire is not known. The fire consumed some valuable notes and paper money. After the fire, Yeates recovered $8,000 in gold that passed through the fire safely...
