Ertis E. Brown, age 99, formerly of Vernon County, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at the Appleton City Manor, in Appleton City, Mo. She was born on Dec. 14, 1908, in Vernon County to Guy and Sallie Ann Thompson Kiger. On Aug. 3, 1925, she was married in Stockton, Mo., to Everett Vandenburg and he preceded her in death in 1953, to this union four children were born. By Chris Patch Nevada Daily Mail Nevada tennis played some of its better tennis at home Monday, against Mount Vernon but the result was all too familiar. The Tigers lost 2-7. Nevada (1-5) was swept 3-0 in doubles but avoided a shutout with singles wins by Dominic Habjan and Ethan Holmes.
