In recent years many dollars have been expended in trying to put a roof on the Courthouse that would run the water but all efforts have failed to make the roof a duck's back that will turn water. The present Court appreciates the value of the county records and is anxious to protect them, yet the Court doesn't want to unnecessarily expend county funds...

Hume man dies in weekend traffic crash

A Friday afternoon collision 5 miles north of Joplin on Highway 43 took the lives of John R. Harris, 64, of Hume, and Rhonda Morris, 36, of Joplin.
