I have a hard time sometimes figuring out the simple things. You would think things like the nature of the human soul or how far is up would be what tripped me up but I don't worry about those things. They are things I can't change and if I can't change it why worry about it?...

100 Years Ago -- November 25, 1903 The patients and employees at State Hospital No. 3 will meet face-to-face will a good Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, toward which much care is being given. To supply this sumptuous meal for more than 1,000 patients and a large force of employees, for this dinner the following provisions are being prepared: 96 turkeys, 40 gallons of dressing for turkeys, 250 large loaves of bread, 12 bushels potatoes, 15 dozen cans corn, 2 barrels of cranberries, 250 bunches celery, 130 gallons coffee and 250 mince pies.. ...

New lawsuit filed relating to Ozark building, Sunshine Law

City Manager Craig Hubler is once again in the hot seat in a lawsuit filed Thursday in the 28th Judicial Circuit Court that names Hubler as the defendant -- alleging Sunshine Law violations and claiming Hubler spent money without city council approval in violation of the city's home-rule charter. The suit was brought by Joe Kraft, Nevada, who referred all questions to his attorney Jerry Kirksey, Bolivar, of the firm Douglas, Haun, Kirksey and Heidemann, P.C...

Recognition night honors this year's achievements in 4-H (Community News ~ 11/25/03)
A large crowd gathered Saturday night to celebrate a changing of the guard as new Vernon County 4-H officers were sworn in, and to honor 4-H members with outstanding achievement throughout the year. Following a short prayer and both the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge State, 4-H Council President Mark Godfrey challenged the younger 4-H members to stay with the program and utilize the benefits it had to offer, like running for state 4-H leadership... -
